Women’s day – March 8 Th . Every year

International women’s day is celebrated in many countries around the world. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political.

International Women’s Day first emerged from the activities of labour movements at the turn of the twentieth century in North America and across Europe.

The first International Women’s Day occurred in 1911, supported by over one million people. Today, IWD belongs to all groups collectively everywhere.

InWD is not country, group or organization specific.

International Women’s Day was celebrated by the United Nations in 1975. In 1977, the United Nations General Assembly invited member states to proclaim March 8 as the UN Day for women’s rights and world peace.
