I have always thought that achieving success is a matter of personality and attitude , and not only intelligence or meticulous work .
There are traits of personality that predict success , that can be seen in preschoolers , no matter what the definition of success is . I define success as happiness , since it’s so different for all of us .
“What do you want to be successful? “
Some of us will have a quick answer , precise , with 2 or 3 desires and a determined vision involving mostly themselves .
Others will pause and become vague , unsure which 2 or 3 to pick from an endless list , arousing unnecessary rational thinking , joggling between selfishness and selflessness .
And here is the personality driving your thoughts . In both groups you’ll find high or average intellect , educated or uneducated minds .
The difference is the reluctance or precision to empower their desire . Or even worse , to not be able to identify the most precious desire , or the key to that goal named success .
It’s like asking my teenager sons what do they want to be happy this summer ?
One will immediately reveal that an expensive PC is his goal , and his voice and inner expression will convince me that .. it’s necessary . He will know what type of PC , multiple IT details that I’m not able to understand and the use and gratitude his goal will bring . Most likely he will get it , since his genuine interest and charismatic precision is empowering him and I’m convinced of the need of something far away from my interest and expertise
My other teenager will enchanting navigate through trip to Rome ,or London , or a Caribbean cruise , or maybe a new diving course , or maybe something for all family to enjoy .. and I’m lost living the dream with him since I like it more than a PC . But what should I choose for him ?
It is our personality speaking when life decides who is successful . It’s our genetic voice who chooses to empower or not our desires
