Nurses have an inner drive to mankind and humanity. Behind the mask at Good Shepherd Hospital

Daily Herald acknowledged the health care efforts at Good Shepherd Hospital, by publishing artistic pictures from COVID unit, taken by one of us , Amy Jo Badowsky .

There is no fear in these pictures, but a gracious love to mankind and humanity , in the middle of a devastating pandemic

I made rounds at the hospital a few times this month, and I expected a grim atmosphere, painted with anxiety and revolt among medical staff. It’s survival instinct to fear and avoid danger to yourself, but mostly danger that can be brought home to your love ones. Health care workers are facing the highest risk of exposure to the virus and more severe form of disease if contracted.

Here I am , inside intensive care, among my team , nurses who I have known for more than 15 years , and suddenly I feel so great , so strong, so ready to heal and help. There is no fear of the virus anymore; among my ICU nurses, I feel their strength lifting me up , as it happens during a non- COVID emergency. I’m strong and in control since they have my back , with their skills and their emotional support .

Thank you , to all healthcare workers at Good Shepherd Hospital – nurses, doctors, respiratory therapist ( here is for you , Paul) phlebologists, assistants (to you , Rick), cleaning services . We are together, as a family, and nothing can break us
